The Town continues to experience unacceptable levels of contamination at its Satellite Recycling drop-off sites located at the rear of Town Hall and adjacent to Fire Company #4. Unacceptable materials such as plastic bags, household trash, and construction materials are being improperly deposited here and causing this contamination.

Residents should please keep in mind that only the following materials are accepted at these locations

  • Food & Beverage Cartons
  • Junk Mail
  • Magazines & Newspaper with Inserts
  • Office Paper
  • Beverage & Food Bottles and Jars
  • Aluminum Foil & Containers
  • Cans & Bottles
  • Plastic Bottles
  • Plastic Containers, Tubs, & Lids

Additionally, items should be empty, rinsed, and cleaned before depositing in these recycling containers.  Do Not shred, box or bundle the items.

We should all do our part to contribute to the recycling efforts and sustainability of our community.  If you observe misuse at these sites, please contact the Police Department to report it at (860) 633-8301.  For questions about acceptable items or Town recycling programs, please contact the Refuse Disposal Division at (860) 652-7772.

Thank you for your cooperation.
