Upcoming Waste & Recycling Opportunities
Paper Shred Event and Fall Brush Drop-Off Schedule
The Glastonbury Refuse Division has the following waste and recycling opportunities available for Glastonbury residents:
1) Paper Shred Event - October 19, 2019
The Town of Glastonbury will hold a Free Community Paper Shredding event on Saturday, October 19, 2019, 9 am – 1 pm at the Public Works Highway Garage, 2380 New London Turnpike. This is for residential material only – no business or commercial users. Residents may dispose of up to 8 boxes or bags. Free to residents - proof of residency required. As a reminder, this is specifically designed to help residents safely dispose of sensitive documents only, such as bank statements, cancelled checks, credit card statements, pay stubs, medical records, tax records, etc. Other non-sensitive papers may be recycled routinely within the Town’s program.
2) Leaf and Grass Drop Off Hours this Fall
The Transfer Station on 2340 New London Turnpike has modified its schedule with additional hours on Sundays beginning October 20, 2019 through November 24, 2019 to provide a drop-off for leaves and grass. Operating hours will be 8:00 A. M. to 4.00 P. M. Permits are required and existing rules and guidelines will apply.
Please note: ONLY leaves and grass clippings will be accepted during these modified hours.
