Eversource Update on Wind/Weather Conditions

Incident Command and Emergency Ops Center Open

Eversource has advised the Town that they opened their Incident Command and Emergency Operations Centers this morning at 7 a.m. in Hartford, Newtown, and New London. Last evening, they also distributed the briefing report below for residents in businesses in the state.

As noted in the report, heavy winds are expected to continue through the day today, 10/17, and their team is working on resolving power outages around the state.  Eversource advises customers to download their mobile app to report outages or to check for updates. Additionally, Eversource customers can sign up to receive storm outage updates on the channel of their choice (text, email, phone call) at www.Eversource.com.

Community Safety

Please drive slowly and safely and be mindful of wet leaves, brush, and debris on the roads.  

If you see a downed wire, please call Eversource at 800-286-2000 or 911 to report it. Stay as far away as possible until Eversource makes the area safe. 

If you would like to report a fallen tree or debris on a town road, please visit www.glastonbury-ct.gov/citizenrequest to submit your concern. It will be routed directly to the appropriate department for resolution.
