The Main Street Sidewalk Phase 3C project has reached substantial completion. As of Thursday, July 16, the newly constructed sidewalks are open to the public.

The Town has provided its contractor, B&W Paving & Landscaping, with a final punch list of outstanding items before the project is formally completed. Remaining work includes:

  • Painting sidewalk markings at the intersection of Main Street (Route 17) and Chestnut Hill Road/Red Hill Drive.
  • Clearing construction materials and restoring the laydown area at Earle Park/American Legion Hall.
  • Removing small areas of invasive bamboo shoots that have re-emerged.
  • Reseeding areas where grass has not become well established during the upcoming fall growing season.

Final acceptance of the intersection improvements and roadway repaving by the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is still pending.

The Town thanks residents, businesses, and motorists for their patience and cooperation throughout construction.
